soldar is a luminaire sculpture carefully welded ninety-six times across sixteen manually curved steel panels. Inspired by the principles of richard serra’s work, the ellipse structure relates movement to material and space. its dual light source transforms the space and captivates the viewer as they navigate around the piece, observing light variations across its metallic surface. the work embraces the inherent qualities of metal–its textures and imperfections– showcasing the nuances of material manipulation.

the piece fosters a dynamic interaction between viewer and artwork, encouraging physical engagement with the surrounding space. its commanding scale dominates its environment, enhancing the viewer’s perception of space. reflecting the importance of the expression of pro- cess, it underscores the significance of creation- emphasizing the physicality and labor inherent in its making.
